Demi Lovato Tattoo's and Meanings

 

Always wondered, how many tattoo's Demi has and what they mean? Well, now you're about to find out! :) We're going to be starting in chronological order of the tattos and the meaning/message behind it.

 

1: You make me beautiful
The first tattoo Demi got was unveiled in June 2010, two months before her 18th birthday.

The tattoo was with the words "you make me beautiful" , located in the right rib. The phrase comes from a song "Beautiful" by Bethany Dillon, a song that changed the life of Demi. She says that these words were encouraging and put her on top of a dark period in her life.
 

Later, Demi added a couple of sentences and the heart of their subscription. The first appearance of these was the Alma Awards in September. Despite not knowing the date of the tattoo, it is believed that it was shortly after leaving the rehabilitation clinic in Chicago. This tattoo is very rare to see Demi in the body, but it's just a reminder to her. Personally, this is one of my fav tattoos of her.




3: Feather
A tattoo just for fun. A small turquoise feather pen behind the left ear.




4: Stay Strong
Demi's most popular tattoo, Stay Strong was done to remember her fans and honour them. She says that she wanted a way to say thank you to us and wanted something that she would never forget. Demi did these tattoos in March 2011, shortly after spending three months in rehab to treat disorders such as bulimia and cutting, in order to fight them after several years.




5: Christian Cross
In June 2011, Demi made a black cross in the right hand below the pinky. This tattoo symbolizes obviously the/her Christian faith. She told Ryan Seacrest that she did this tattoo thanks to their faith and she wants to see every time you hold the microphone, because she knows that God is always by your side.




6: Sober is Sexy
Demi also has another tattoo on her left wrist, which she did in July 2011 with her friends Hanna Beth Merja, and Ensley Lauren Ivey Pietra.
This tattoo is the symbol of the campaign Hanna Beth: "Sober is Sexy."
Demi told Hollywood Life: I got like a kiss mark, and it’s just like a friendship tattoo and also it kinda reminds me not to take myself too seriously. I got like a fun tattoo rather than all these other ones that are so serious.
